Sponcered swim

Well done to everyone who did the sponcered swim, well all being the five of us and those who watched. We managed to swim 435-ish lengths all together in an hour! we were all very tired and have made some money towards our trip to denmark.
We need as many tickets to be sold for the quiz night as not many people have reserved tickets and we need to know how many people are coming for food,

p.s we have some quiz night posters getting put around Guide and Scout Halls, we printed off loads last week so if anyone wants them they will be in the hut. At dell lane Robin has put a huge 300% version of the poster.

Bring out your phones!

Dig deep into those drawers and cupboards and bring us your old, out of fashion and well used mobile phones, and any used inkjet and laser cartridges you have.

We can make money from them and, better still, the mobiles you donate will be refurbished and resold or fully recycled. Refurbished mobiles may be sent to developing countries where there are few landlines, meaning the person who ends up with your phone might rely on it for their business or to keep in touch with family and friends. Your old mobile could really change someone's life!

The printer cartridges we collect will be refilled and returned to the consumer stream as an environmentally friendly product.

If you don't help us recycle and mobiles and cartridges are binned, they end up in landfill sites where they take hundreds of years to biodegrade. What's more, the toxic chemicals they contain will eventually leak into the soil and pollute the environment. Just think of the millions of mobile phones and cartridges which are binned every year and you'll begin to realise just how much damage they cause to the environment!

And the best bit is, by recycling we raise funds too!
